Definition
In valuation using material cost estimates in Profit Center Accounting, the costing key determines the parameters with which the system looks for a valid material cost estimate in the database of Product Cost Controlling.
By maintaining the parameters Costing variant and Version, you can tell the system what cost estimate to read.
When you do so, you also need to maintain either a costing date, a periode/year or a period indicator.
