Definition

Venture type is an indicator which indicates the type of venture to which the venture is assigned. There are five venture types:

Operated(no tax) - This type of venture is operated by the company using JVA. An operated venture without tax allows CI/NPI partner and suspense processing. It is not possible to add a tax to this type of venture.

Operated(with tax) - This type of venture is operated by the company running JVA. On an operated venture with tax, it is possible to assign a tax code to an operated venture with tax.

Cutback will then calculate tax charges to venture partners. Depending on the setting of the Tax on exp detail field in the JVA global company code parameters, the tax willbe processes as either a value added tax or a goods and sevices tax (e.g. for service agreements in Canada).

Neither Ci/NPI partner nor suspense processing is allowed for this type of venture.

Non-operated on-billing - In a non-operated on-billing venture, the company running JVA sells part of its non-operated share of the venture to third parties. The company running JVA distributes portions of the billings it receives from the venture operator to the partners in its non-operating share, in effect acting as an operator toward these third party partners.

Non-operted venture - In a none-operated venture, the company running JVA holds a non-operated share of the venture, and is billed by the operator for its share of venture expenses.

Corporated venture - A corporate venture is a venture in which the company running JVA holds 100% of the interest. There should be only one default corporate venture and equity group per JVA company. Expenses booked in the JVA company without JVA information (i.e., venture, equity group) will be assigned to the default corporate venture and equity group.

After they are set up, the corporate venture and equity group mus be designed as the default corporate venture and equity group on the Company Code Parameters: Corporate Data screen.
