Documentation
Definition
This indicator determines whether or not a project is an Authorization For Expenditure (AFE):
X - AFE
_ - not an AFE
Any activity to be carried out by an operator of a venture must have funds authorized by its partners. The level of funds authorization can be set at any level within a project hierarchy. The WBS element at this level should be given a project type with an AFE indicator.
The JV billing process can report projects by AFE level. If a WBS element is assigned a project type which has the AFE attribute, then JV billing will roll up costs from the lower level elements and report the total at the AFE WBS element level.
