Definition

Indicator showing flow is relevant

Use

a) Costing of cash flow transactions

This indicator is used to control which flows are taken into account when the effective interest rate, NPV and so on are calculated.
Note that only those flows whose flow type is marked as 'relevant' are included in the calculation.
In the Single Transaction Costing area, you select the relevant flows before executing the actual costing run. Those flows whose flow types you do not mark as relevant are excluded from the calculation.

b) Costing of swaps

The indicator controls whether a certain flow type is taken into account when a price (e.g. the NPV of a swap) is determined. Using this control you could, for example, include an up-front payment entered as an additional flow in the NPV calculation and exclude a charge entered.

c) Forward exchange transactions

The indicator controls whether or not a certain flow type is taken into account in the price calculation (NPV).

Standard settings

a) Costing of cash flow transactions

If the flow type indicator is not maintained, the corresponding flows are considered not relevant.

b) Costing of swaps

In the case of swaps, you can override the setting on flow type level with the setting on costing rule/flow type level.
