Definition
This indicator controls whether the opportunity interest rate is periodically transferred, that is, whether periodically transferred opportunity interest rates (OIs) are used to calculate the opportunity contribution.
- '0' - Periodically transferred OIs are not used. The opportunity interest rate is always determined using the procedure set in the costing rule.
- '1' - Periodically transferred OIs are used. If opportunity interest rates were transferred with the period values, these are used to calculate the opportunity contribution. If no opportunity interest rates were transferred, the opportunity interest rates are determined using the procedure set in the costing rule.
If you have set 'take periodically transferred OIs into account' in the costing rule and have also determined that the opportunity interest rate is to be calculated from the 'average interest rate' or from the 'weighted allocation of several fixed interest rates' the following may occur:
- When you first call up costing, no opportunity interest rate is stored in the period values -> the opportunity interest rate is calculated using the set procedure and then stored in the period values.
- If costing is started again within the same period, the opportunity interest rates are not calculated again but instead transferred from the period values in the first costing run.
This can lead to errors if the opportunity interest rates would normally need to be calculated again because the interest rate tables have changed or the system did not calculate to the end of the period in the first run. If you want the system to recalculate the opportunity interest rates, you have to explicitly delete the opportunity interest rates already stored in the period values.
