Definition

This indicator controls whether the effective interest rate is calculated for transactions with a cash flow.

  • '0' - The effective interest rate is not calculated
Without the effective interest rate, only the cash flow can be determined and the NPV of the net interest margin is calculated. All other costing procedures (such as NIM contributions in the period) require the effective interest rate as an input parameter and can not therefore be executed.
  • '1' - The effective interest rate is calculated
If the effective interest rate is calculated, you can select further costing procedures in the costing rule which require the effective interest rate as an input parameter.

Use

Only switch off the effective interest rate calculation if no meaningful effective interest rate can be calculated for the transaction and you only want to calculate the NPV of the net interest margin.
