Definition

The translation rate for a commitment calculation is the translation rate for translating the transaction currency into the operating concern currency on the day at which the commitment calculation is carried out.

Use

Using this translation rate you can calculate the influence of floating exchange rates when loans are costed. This allows you to separate the change to the settlement NPV of the net interest margin into two parts.

  • Change due to delayed payment
  • Change due to fluctuation in exchange rate

Maintenance

The translation rate is stored when the commitment calculation is executed and is then available in the user exit for calculating the 'influencing factor for currency translation'.
