The entry date and the entry time are set automatically by the system.

The entry date is the CPU date at the time the record is entered, the entry time is the CPU time at the time the record is entered.

This entry information serves as a means of control and is used in costing to determine whether a transaction is backdated, for example.

If this is the case, the costing run may have to be repeated for periods which (from a costing point of view) are already closed.
