Definition
The effective capital at the payment dates is the tied-up capital calculated by applying the effective interest rate to the cash flows on the payment dates. The effective capital for a payment date is a total made up of the following:
- the effective capital at the last payment date
- the effective interest since then
- the cash flow amount.

The effective capital at the payment dates is used for transactions with a stored payment flow as a basis for calculating
- the NIM contribution
- the transfer price contribution
- the average effective tied-up capital for the reporting period.
