Definition

Specifies the text ID that you use in the accounting document additional texts to indicate the relevant external document date (the date of the original document received from the customer or vendor).

Use

You can use the following valid date formats: DD.MM.YYYY or YYYYMMDD.

Dependencies

You have completed the following activities:

• Defined a text ID for the external document date in Customizing for Financial Accounting, under Financial Accounting Global Settings -> Document -> Document Header -> Define Text IDs for Documents.
• Added the external document date as an additional text for the document under Extras -> Texts#
  

Example

You created the text ID EDAT for the external document date and entered 20.01.2009 in the additional text when you created the invoice.

If you enter EDAT in this field, the program displays the text 20.01.2009 for the external document date in the output.
