Patient Accounting Germany

According to §14(2) BPflV, the departmental per diem must be reduced if surgical procedures surcharges are billed for.

By means of this indicator, you can control if this discount is also to apply to the intensive care per diem.

  • If you do not select this indicator, the discount stipulated by §14(2) BPflV does not apply to an intensive care per diem.
  • If you select this indicator, the intensive care per diem is reduced. Here, whether a discount applies to the intensive care per diem only if the billing organizational units of the intensive care per diem and of the surgical procedures surcharge are identical depends on the value of the No OU comp. DPD dis. indicator.

Note

Please refer to the corresponding activities in the Implementation Guide, by means of which you define the amount of the actual discount.

Example

  • The intensive care per diem is not to be reduced.

    Do not select No discount ICD.

  • The intensive care per diem is to be reduced if the billing organizational units of the surgical procedures surcharge and of the instensive care per diem are the same.

    Select No discount ICD, but not No OU comp. DPD dis..

  • The intensive care per diem is always to be reduced if a surgical procedures surcharge exists.
