Definition
In the country version Canada, the version code is used in addition to the health insurance number for an insurance relationship with the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). The version code is blank on the first health card issued to the patient, and appears on all replacement cards.
The version code can comprise 1 or 2 digits. When coded on 1 digit it can be right- or left-aligned.
