Definition

This field specifies the type of a hospital operator for German statistical regulatory requirements.

The subsequent list specifies the authorized hospital operator types:

  • Public: hospitals that are operated or sponsored by regional authorities (country, state, district, county, municipality), by groups of such regional authorities or by social insurance agencies such as local insurance providers and workers' compensation associations.
  • Community-owned: hospitals which are maintained by sponsors of church or general welfare work, church communities, foundations or associations.
  • Private: hospitals that require a license as a business company according to the $30 Trade Regulation Act.

For hospitals that are operated by different sponsors, you specify the operator who participates the most or who bears most of the costs.
