Definition
Technical field: when an NLEI service is split into several billing items in a multi-phase process, a common digit specified here defines which items belong together with regard to their contents.
Example
The service ABC is broken down into 2 parts through a price split (1st phase): part 1 with quantity 3 and proce 21, part 2 with quantity 5 and price 15.
Thereafter, coverage is shared between two insurance providers P1 and P2 in the following manner: P1 bears the full costs of 1 and 80% of the costs of 2, P2 bears the remaining 20% of 2 (phase 2).
This results in a total of three billing items, whereby both parts of 2 from the 2nd phase belong together within a complete report (what was billed for the case in this billing run).
This can be documented by specifying the digit 1 or 2 in the field.
