Definition

The system provides three input fields (each 80 characters long) for the ICD combination per rule.

The entry of the valid ICD codes requires you to adhere to a defined grammar.

Procedure

Please check that your entries comply with the following rules:

  1. Enumeration of individual ICD codes: separated by ';'
  2. End your entry in an input field with an ICD code and a blank, even if the entry continues in the second input field.
  3. Combination of individual ICD codes: '*'
  4. Enumeration for the fourth and fifth positions (ICD-10): [ ]
  5. Division of enumeration for each position: ,
  6. Characters allowed for the ICD code are 0,1,2,..9,A-Z
  7. You have enter a period ('.') after the third position should a fourth position follow.
  8. You can enter an enumeration for the fourth position when entering ICD codes.

  • Example: ICD code entry with enumeration for the fourth position and combination:
    641.[1,2]*642.[2,3];643

The following are examples of unauthorized specifications:
6412 --> period expected after third digit
641.01 --> 5th digit not authorized
642.X --> 'X' not authorized in fourth position
642.[12,3] --> four positions maximum allowed
642.[1,3]2 --> fifth position not allowed
