Definition
When a temporary medical record is returned to the archive, it must either be appended to an existing medical record of the patient, or a new medical record must be created for the patient.
The activity to be carried out is determined by the medical record organization form of the discharging organizational unit.
The following activities can be determined:
- Create medical record
A new medical record should be created for the patient. After the medical record has been created by choosing Edit -> Create medical record, the activity is changed to 'Append medical record' and the newly created medical record is displayed as the target medical record. - Append medical record
The content of the temporary medical record should be appended to an existing medical record that is displayed as the target medical record. After the activity has been confirmed by choosing Edit -> Delete medical record, the temporary medical record is deleted. - Indeterminable
The patient has not yet been discharged and consequently the activity cannot be detemined.
