This field contains the name of the function module that is used to calculate the value of a characteristic.

Use
SAP uses this function module to calculate the characteristic.
Procedure
If you want to use a characteristic supported by SAP for cost object controlling, you have to replace the standard module in the table for assigning IS-H characteristics to CO characteristics.
If you want to use your own function module instead of the SAP function module, you can replace the stardard module in the table for assigning table for assigning IS-H characteristics to CO characteristics.
Examples
You would like to use your own characteristic in cost object controlling which is similar to a characteristic supported by SAP. You can use the SAP function module as a reference.

Please note that customer function modules have to use the interface pre-defined by SAP.
