Definition

Designates a material requisition as a free-text requisition without reference to a material number in the SAP material master.

When you release a material requisition for which the Free-Text Material Requisition indicator is set, the system creates a purchase requisition in Materials Management.

Use

Set this indicator if you wish to request materials that are not in the catalog of materials authorized for your organizational unit.

Dependencies

The system performs an authorization check using the authorization object N_NMAT_OE with the approval type for free-text requisitions defined in Customizing.
