Documentation
Definition
Maximum amount covered per case.
You should only use this field if the contract scheme is not used for interim billing.
Exceptions in interim billing
Maximum per case is taken into account for each interim billing run.
Example:
You have an outpatient case with two visits:
Visit date Service Service price
10/1/2000
BLOOD $40
LAB $100
10/3/2000
DENT $200
The contract scheme has a Max case of $200 at header level.
You bill for each visit separately: When you bill for the first visit, both services BLOOD and LAB are completely covered by the contract scheme because the maximum per case has not been used up.
When the second visit is billed for, the maximum per case is again taken into account and $200 of service DENT is covered. In total, after billing for both visits separately, $340 is covered.
