Definition

Categorization of hospitals for German statistical regulatory requirements.

You can specify the following hospital types:

  • University hospital: university hospitals as specified by the German university construction law (HBFG).
  • Planned hospital: hospitals which are included in the hospital strategic plan of a federal state.
  • Hospital with care requirements according to §108 No.3 SGBV: hospitals which are authorized to provide hospital treatment for insured people due to care requirements defined with the local associations of the health insurance funds and the associations of the alternative health insurance funds.
  • Other hospital: hospitals which do not fit into the above-mentioned categories and do not therefore belong to the registered hospitals according to $108 SGBV.
