Definition

By means of this parameter you can specify whether the system ends FR/PS determination when having determined a flat rate per case or a procedures surcharge by using a specific rule.

Specific rules refer to the combination of several ICPM and ICD codes.

Unspecific rules refer to individual ICPM and ICD codes.

If you set this indicator, the system finishes FR/PS determination when having determined a flat rate per case or a procedures surcharge using the specific rule.

If you do not set this indicator, the system determines flat rates per case or procedures surcharges using both specific and unspecific rules.

In compliance with the 2nd and 3rd amendment of the German Federal Legislation for Hospitals from 1995, flat rates per case and procedures surcharges are defined by a combination of 3 ICPM codes maximum and 2 ICD codes maximum. Since the more expensive flat rates per case and procedures surcharges are mostly defined by the more specific rules, it is ususally recommendable to select this indicator.

Example

  • PS 21.01: ICPM: 1-275.0
  • PS 21.02: ICPM: 1-275.0 combined with 8-837.0

You have entered the ICPM codes 1-275.0 and 8-837.0 for a case.

If you have not set this parameter, the system proposes the procedures surcharges determined by means of both the specific and the unspecific rules, i.e. PS21.01 and PS21.02.

Recommendation

Set this parameter to restrict the system to using specific rules for FR/PS determination.
