Definition
With this parameter, you specify whether the system is to determine flat rates per case/procedures surcharges using ICPM codes only, or also using ICD codes.
If you set this parameter, FR/PS determination takes into account both the correspondence of the ICPM codes and the correspendence of the ICD codes of an assignment rule. This means that the system determines a flat rate per case or a procedures surcharge only if the ICPM codes and the ICD codes of the case match the ICPM codes and the ICD codes which define the flat rate per case or procedures surcharge.
If you do not set this parameter, the system determines flat rates per case by means of ICPM codes only. The system does not use the ICD codes for the case for FR/PS determination. This can be useful if, for example, you want to ensure that 'similar' diagnoses, which combined with ICPM codes or according to the set of rules do not define a flat rate per case or procedures surcharge, still allow an FR/PS determination.
Note
If you do not set this parameter, you should set the parameter FR+PS. In this way, the system determines the procedures surcharges according to the flat rates per case proposal. For more information on this topic, refer to the documentation on the parameter FR+PS.
Recommendation
Set this parameter to take both ICPM and ICD codes into account for FR/PS determination.
