Definition
By means of this parameter you can specify whether the system is to determine only flat rates per case or whether it is to include the procedures surcharges in its search.
If you set this parameter, the system always determines both the flat rate per case and the corresponding procedures surcharges. This setting can be useful when the system determines more than one flat rate per case for a case, provided you can bill for the corresponding procedures surcharges as well as for the flat rates per case. In this case you have to decide which flat rate per case you want to bill for via the corresponding procedures surcharge.
If you do not set this indicator, the system ends FR/PS determination when it has found one ore more flat rates per case for a case. Since billing of a case is mostly carried out via the flat rate per case first, it is usually not necessary to determine the procedures surcharges.
Note
If you have not set the parameter w/ICD, the system does not include the ICD code of a case when determining the flat rates per case and the procedures surcharges. As this setting may result in the system determining flat rates per case which for the present case cannot be billed for, you should also activate the procedures surcharge determination function by setting the FR+PS parameter.
