Definition
You use this indicator to specify whether an insurance relationship (IR) stored for the patient should be relevant (active) for the current case; in other words, whether the system is also to create a case-related insurance relationship.
When you create a new insurance relationship (IR) within case processing, the system not only creates this insurance for the patient but also for the case; that is, this indicator is set automatically.
Example
During a previous stay in your healthcare facility, a patient with a private supplementary insurance plan was treated in a private room. This plan still exists as a patient-related insurance in the IS-H database. When re-admitted to your healthcare facility, the patient does not wish to be accommodated in a private room and as such does not claim from this supplementary insurance plan. The insurance is thus not relevant for the current case and should not be flagged as case-related.
