Definition
You use this parameter to specify how the program for generating copayment requests is to handle delivery cases.
Input values
- 0: No copayment obligation
The case is fully exempt from copayment.
- 1: No copayment for delivery day and 6 following days
The case is exempt from copayment on the delivery day and up to 6 days thereafter.
- 2: No copayment from admission to 6 days after delivery
The case is exempt from copayment from the day of admission to the 6th day after delivery.
- 3: No copayment from 3 days before to 6 days after delivery
The case is exempt from copayment during a period from 3 days before to 6 days after delivery.
If the parameter has a value from 0 to 3, the system identifies a case as a delivery case if the delivery date is maintained and the case has an admission type for which the Discharge indicator is selected.
- 4: Copayment according to §301 regulation
Copayment exemption is determined according to the valid §301 regulation.
- If the admission reason "05" is specified for the case, the copayment generator treats the delivery case as fully exempt from copayment.
- If the admission reason #05# is not specified for the case and a delivery takes place during the hospital stay, the copayment generator treats the case as liable for copayment up to the day before the delivery. The system identifies a case with an admission reason other than #05# as a delivery case if the delivery date is specified.
The default setting is 1.
Example
A patient is admitted on February 1st and her baby is delivered on February 2nd. She is then discharged on February 10th.
If the parameter value is 0, she is fully exempt from copayment.
If the parameter value is 1, she is liable for copayment for February 1st, 9th, and possibly 10th (depending on her copayment obligation on the discharge day).
If the parameter value is 2, she is liable for copayment for February 9th and possibly 10th (depending on her copayment obligation on the discharge day).
If the parameter value is 3, she is liable for copayment for February 9th and possibly 10th (depending on her copayment obligation on the discharge day).
If the parameter value is 4 and the admission reason is 05, the patient is fully exempt from copayment. However, if an admission reason other than 05 has been specified and the delivery date is maintained, she is liable for copayment on February 1st.
