When the query is executed, the system selects all diagnoses whose diagnosis text contains one of the texts entered as the selection criterion.

It is irrelevant whether the diagnosis text originates in the diagnosis coding catalog, or is simply a user-defined text.

Example:

• You specify the search criteria diagnosis text = "infectious, fever".
• The system returns a number of diagnoses including the following:
• Infectious diseases of the digestive system
• Typhoid fever
