Definition
Code for a diagnosis that you can enter for an inpatient or outpatient treatment when preregistering the patient.
The code uniquely identifies the diagnosis in a diagnosis coding catalog.
When the patient is actually admitted, the system transfers the diagnosis code into the diagnosis overview and also transfers the catalog text for the diagnosis (characterized by C:) into the Free-Text Diagnosis field.
