Definition
When payment distribution is in use, the system evaluates the contract schemes during billing. At header or item level of the contract schemes you can specify amounts that are covered per day (for further information, refer to SG,CH: Maintain Contract Schemes). To ensure that these specifications are evaluated correctly, the number of relevant days for the corresponding case must be determined.
The following logic is used to determine the number of days for inpatient cases:
The patient's stay in your healthcare facility is interpreted as an extended service. The admission date is used as the start date and the discharge data is used as the end date of this fictitious service. The quantity of this fictitious service is determined using a valuation formula, and is used as the number of relevant days.
As shipped, the system uses a default value for the valuation formula. If you want to use a different valuation formula to determine this number of days in your system, you can store a different valuation formula in this parameter.
Default setting
Country Version Valuation Formula
Switzerland 30
All others 6
Example
Admission date: 06/20/2000
Discharge date: 06/25/2000
The following maximum is defined in the contract scheme header:
Max/day: 20 $ (overall valuation)
Formula No. of days Maximum
06 5 20$ * 5 = 100$
03 6 20$ * 6 = 120$
