Definition

German: the minimum length of stay (mLOS) stipulates the minimum number of days that need to exist for a treatment episode to be covered by the respective flat rate per case. If the length of stay of patients who are not transferred is shorter than the minimum length of stay, a discount is to be made on the flat rate per case for the appropriate day specified in the catalog and each further day covered by the FR/case that is not performed.

The mLOS is measured in days. The number of days with the discount are output.

For certain flat rates per case, the minimum length of stay relative to care when provided by external physicians is different to that when care is provided by the main department.
