Cost assigment scheme. Within the Dutch functions of IS-H an automatic cost assignment is performed based on 4 different type of schemes. These schemes represent the following process :

  1. Cost bearer with the lowest priority will cover all the cost.
  2. Cost bearer with the lowest priority will cover a part of costs. If this cost bearer is a sickness fund and an additional cost bearer can be found, this additional cost bearer will cover an additional part of the costs. This additional part is the difference between a private insurance and a sickness fund.
  3. Starting with the cost bearer with the lowest priority the cost bearer's priority is compared to the class of the activity. When the activity class is fully covered by the priority of the cost bearer the process stops, but when this isn't so the process continues pcking up the next cost bearer until the activity class is fully covered.
  4. The cost bearer with the lowest priority will cover the costs when there is no additional cost bearer. If there is an additional cost bearer and the first cost bearer is a sickness fund, all the specialist activities will be covered by the additional cost bearer and no by the first cost bearer.
