Documentation
Definition
Field in a network that you want to link to a field in a bill of material. The field in the network becomes the reference field.
You use the reference field to create a link between a network activity and a bill of material item so that changes in the bill of material are also made in the network.
Procedure
If you do not know the name of a field, use the F1 help in the maintenance transaction for the bill of material or network. You will find the field name in Technical info.
Example
You want to use the alphanumerical abbreviation A1 for the reference point. You can define the sort field in the BOM item and a user-defined field in the network activity as a reference point.
Enter the technical name of the sort field, SORTF in the field Field name BOM and the technical name of the third user-defined field USR02 in the field Field name network. Later on while maintaining the BOM, you enter A1 in the sort field, and while maintaining the network you enter A1 in the third user-defined field.
Dependencies
- The field that you define as reference point here is valid for all netwo networks and projects within a client.
- Iy you have already defined a field as a reference point and now define another field as a reference point, you could inadvertly move BOM items in the network.
