Definition
You can correct a bill in the IC Web Client by entering a new meter reading result in the >Customer Meter Reading field. The meter reading date and the intervals determine whether the original meter reading and its meter reading date are modified, or whether the new meter reading result leads to a control reading.
You can define two intervals (in days) in Customizing.
- The past interval is the period in the past that starts from the original meter reading.
- The future interval is the period in the future that starts from the original meter reading.
The following cases exist:
- The new meter reading date is in the following interval:
Previous periodic meter reading + 1 day until periodic meter reading date - past interval - 1 day:
The result is interpreted as a control reading for the date entered and the original result is estimated.
- The new meter reading date is in the following interval:
Periodic meter reading date - past interval until periodic meter reading date + future interval
The result is overwritten and the date of the periodic meter reading date is moved accordingly.
- The new meter reading date is in the following interval:
Periodic meter reading date + future interval + 1 day until 12.31.9999.
The result is interpreted as a control reading for the date entered and the original result is estimated.
For example.
- Past interval = 10 days
- Future interval = 5 days
This produces the following data for a meter reading result on December 31, 2003:
Previous cycle Cycle
12.31.2002 12.22.2003 12.31.2003 05.01.2004
|-------------------------|------------------|-------------------------|------------------------
The meter reading date determines which of the following activities are triggered when a meter reading result is entered in order to correct the original result:
- 01.01.2003 - 12.21.2003: The system executes a control reading and the original result is estimated
- 12.22.2003 - 05.01.2004: The meter reading date is adjusted and the periodic meter reading result overwritten.
- 01.06.2004 - 31.12.9999: The system executes a control reading and the original result is estimated
