Definition

Instantiation lets you create separate material master records for an assembly that occurs more than once in a BOM. You can then distinguish assemblies that have the same material number, but have been changed manually or configured differently to suit the order.

This indicator lets you define the scope for instantiation.

This setting instantiates the selected assembly and all assemblies in the structure that are in a path directly below it.

Caution

The setting in the root profile (the profile of the top-level configurable material) is the default setting that appears when you first see the result screen. This setting applies globally to all instances.

If you change the default on the result screen, the new setting applies to all instances. For example, if you want to instantiate instance 7, the current global setting is applied.

Use

The indicator in the configuration profile serves as a default value for maintaining order BOMs. You can change the setting there.
