Definition
This field describes the role of an investment program position within investment planning in a local ERP System on the one hand, and in group-wide investment planning (for example, in an SEM System) on the other hand.
The possible values of the field are listed below:
- Field is empty: The program position is a local detail position. Its plan and budget values can only be maintained locally in the ERP System.
- Field = 1: The program position is a strategic program position. You can only maintain budget values of a strategic program position in the corresponding ERP System. The plan values of a strategic program position can be maintained locally in an ERP System, but they can also be overwritten by group-wide investment planning. You can assign authorizations to limit how strategic program positions are treated. You can ensure, for example, that the strategic program positions of certain plan versions can only be maintained locally in an ERP System, whereas the strategic program positions of other plan versions can only be changed by group-wide investment planning.
- Field = 2: The program position is a totals position. The plan and budget values of a totals position are solely the result of an automatic rollup of the values of program positions at the next lowest level of the investment program hierarchy. The plan and budget values of totals positions, therefore, cannot be changed locally in the ERP System, nor can they be overwritten by group-wide investment planning.
Note that the assignment of the different types of positions is limited as follows:
- To a totals position: You can assign only other totals positions or strategic program positions.
- To a strategic program position: You can assign only other strategic program positions or local detail positions.
- To a local detail position: You can assign only other local detail positions.
