Important control functions of the investment profile:
- Automatic creation of an asset under construction when you create an internal order or a work breakdown structure (WBS) element
- Asset class for the creation of the asset under construction
- Asset class for depreciation simulation

Definition
You need an investment profile in the appropriation request type if you want the appropriation requests in this request type to be included in the depreciation simulation. The investment profile makes it possible to enter depreciation terms for the depreciation simulation in the appropriation request, or the system can provide these depreciation terms as defaults from the simulation asset class.
However, make sure that you do not use an investment profile that is defined to automatically create an asset under construction.
