Definition
The customs identification number is a number used by the customs authorities to identify all partners involved in the business transaction. Name and address of the partners are stored together with this number.
Example
In the German ATLAS procedure, the Federal Customs Administration specifies this nine-digit number for use. If you use this number, you do not need to transmit the address data.
