Definition

Here you can specify the service or surgical procedure code that should be used for billing (pursuant to §301 in Germany).
For each surgery, you should mark exactly one surgical procedure code as the main code.
Multiple injuries (5-981 or 5-982) is an exception to this rule. In this instance, the main code indicator can be set for several surgeries.

Note

Please note that only the surgeries for which the main code indicator is set are taken into account in the surgery statistics.

Example

• set --> the surgical procedure code specified for the service is the code relevant to patient billing and is listed in the surgery statistics.
• initial --> the surgical procedure code specified for the service is not used for billing or the surgery statistics.
