Definition

The object type is a central term in the

  • installed base. An object
  • type is assigned in table T371D for each business object that should be

assigned to the installed base. This four character type is only known within the installed base program.

The object type determines the following:

  • It determines its description for the application programs outside of the installed base programs in table T371D.
  • It determines the ABAP class that is responsible for access and verifica tion of the objects in table T371D.
  • It determines the subscreens that are used in the transactions for processing the installed base.

The object type is saved in the component along with the object key .
