Documentation
Definition
Collects the maintenance costs for an asset.
In this field you assign a maintenance order to the asset. The system does not post automatically to this order. However, you can enter the order when you post a post a maintenance task, in order to accumulate the maintenance costs in relation to the asset.
Note
It only makes sense to use this procedure if you do not use the Plant Maintenance (PM) component. If the PM component is not in use, you can enter an internal order here (standard order type 0800).
If PM is in use, you can accumulate detailed maintenance costs using pieces of equipment or functional locations. You can link these pieces of equipment and functional locations to an asset in Asset Accounting by means of its master data.
In order to remain compatible with older releases, you can enter a maintenance order with order type 30 (PM) in this field if you are using PM. These orders are for informational purposes only, and are not used by Asset Accounting functions (and will not be in the future).
