Documentation
Definition
The technical key is the internal identification of a business object belonging to a business scenario (examples of a business object include orders or business transaction items). The technical key remains unique, even when objects are archived and their business key is re-used. A GUID ("globally unique identifier") is especially suited as a technical key. However the only requirement is that the technical key remains unique within a business scenario over the entire life of the business object.
