Definition
In contrast to the technical key, which internally identifies a business object of a business scenario, the business key is external. That is, it is a representation of an object that is suitable for the user interface (for example, the combination of transaction number and item number). Depending on the business scenario, the business key can be made up differently.
If objects were archived and their numbers reused, then the business key is no longer unique. The technical key, on the other hand, is always unique in the business scenario. Therefore, it is not permitted to be reused after an object is deleted or archived.
