Definition
In the context of HDB services an application is defined as a high level grouping of business processes. In the central HDB customizing transaction applications are represented at the first hierarchy level.
Use
Specify a key for the grouping of your business processes. HDB services allow a differentiation between business processes on a lower level using sub-applications. The specific use of the application and sub-application level depend on the application context.
