Definition
The variant of a Global Trade Item Number (GTIN) serves to make internal company distinctions between specific products. The difference between products in this case is so small that only a variant is created.
Use
A new variant of a GTIN is assigned, for example, if the recipe for a product has changed slightly, or if different printing on the packaging is required for marketing reasons.
