Definition
The statistical value is the value of a product crossing the border. In the case of goods dispatch, it includes both the goods value and all transportation and insurance costs within a fiscal territory. In the case of the arrival of goods, both the goods value and the transportation and insurance costs outside the fiscal territory are taken into consideration. Generally, the statistical value is determined by the invoiced value.
Use
The statistical value is used for creating statistics on cross-border trade. For example, you specify this value in the intra-European Union trade statistics (INTRASTAT). The system determines the statistical value during pricing by using condition records with condition type GRWR.
Example
You send goods to a customer within the European Union. You take over all transportation and insurance costs. In this case, the statistical value includes the goods value plus the proportional amount of transporation and insurance costs up to the border.
In the order, the statistical value is specified as a percentage (e.g. 70 per cent) of the amount to be billed before tax. The differential amount (in this case, 30 per cent) is the proportional amount of transportation and insurance costs from the border to the customer. This amount should not be included in the statistical value.
