Definition

Specifies the date on which asset was put to use.

Use

System uses this date for depreciation calculation as follows:

• If the date lies in the first half of the fiscal year (in between April-September), then asset attracts depreciation as per the depreciation rules
• If the date lies in the second half of the fiscal year (in between October-March), then the asset attracts 50% of depreciation applicable to the asset block
• If the date is not maintained then the system uses the date maintained in the X field of the Asset master date for depreciation calculation
