You can carry ledgers with legal valuation, group valuation, or Profit Center valuation.
Legal valuation is the standard setting. Ledgers that use other types of valuation should only be created as part of an integrated scenario, which requires you to define an appropriate currency and valuation profile for the controlling areas that are affected.
