Definition
This indicator determines the goods direction of the declaration to the authorities.
Goods movements between countries belonging to the same economic area are divided into receipt or dispatch. But goods movements between countries of one economic area with so-called third countries are called imports or exports.
Use
Set this indicator to determine the goods direction of the declaration to the authorites.
Examples
Goods movements within the European Union are subject to the intra-European Union trade statistics (INTRASTAT). Inbound goods must be registered in a receipt declaration. Outbound goods are monitored in a dispatch declaration.
The extra-European Union trade statistics (EXTRASTAT) deals with imports and exports between EU countries and third countries such as the USA.
