Definition

Activate the new lanes logic

Use

For SAP F&R 5.1, the new lanes logic is active automatically after the delivery of the redesigned lane model via the support package.

For SAP F&R 5.0, you are able to switch from the old to the new lanes logic using an activation report.

CAUTION: Activation of the new lane model in F&R cannot be undone.

In order to synchronize the implementation of the new logic on both sides (ERP and F&R), a Customizing switch is available in SAP ERP. When you connect to SAP F&R 5.0 via the report, you must explicitly activate the use of the new interface logic.

  • When connecting to SAP F&R 5.1, the switch is set implicitly in SAP ERP (detected via a Customizing setting specifying the release of the connected SAP F&R system).
  • When connecting to SAP F&R 5.0, in order to activate the usage of the new lane logic in the ERP interface, you must set the switch explicitly by running the new report FRE_ACTIVATE_NEW_LANES.
  • When upgrading from SAP F&R 5.0 to SAP F&R 5.1 (without having previously activated the new lane logic in SAP F&R 5.0), you must also run report FRE_ACTIVATE_NEW_LANES (as in F&R Release 5.0) to activate the new lane logic.

The FRE_ACTIVATE_NEW_LANES report has the following functions:

  • Delete all stored lane recovery files (they can no longer be displayed or retransmitted via the user interface)
  • Set the Customizing switch to activate the new lanes logic
  • Initial transmission of lanes with new logic in several parallel tasks
  • Store transferred packages in recovery files (if activated in Customizing)

   

Dependencies

CAUTION: Once it has been activated, you cannot undo the new lane model in F&R!
