Definition
An allocation block groups together account assignment distributions for the purpose of calculating the distribution of the amount over the splits. The distribution calculations are performed for distributions within the same allocation block as a group.
Use
When a mix of different distribution types is used within a splitting rule, use allocation blocks to control how percentage and equivalent value calculations will be performed.
Example
A distribution rule distributes a fixed amount of 1,000 to Fund A, and 50% of the remainder to each of Fund B and Fund C. You must put the distribution for Fund A in Allocation Block 1 and distributions for Fund B and Fund C in Allocation Block 2. In this way, the percentage calculations for Funds B and C are performed using the amount remaining after Allocation Block 1 has been processed.
