Definition
Controls the balance carried forward within the year-change closing operations.
Use
If you work with a fund and have issued overall budget, you can carry forward the actual values balances from the directly postable commitment items into the new year.
The indicator specifies to which carryforward item categories the balance of the previous year is transferred in the new year.
In this way you can summarize the actual values of the previous years' commitment items to one or several carryforward item categories in the follow-on year.

Dependencies
You can only store a carryforward item category in the master record of a directly postable commitment item.
The carryforward item category has to defined in the Funds Management Customizing.
The balance carried forward is only executed by the system for funds, for which the indicator Manage inventory.
